This website is dedicated to the pupils and staff of our rather small but unique school in Tuckfield Street, Fremantle which was run by the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions and operated under the names of St. Joseph of the Sacred Heart, Sacred Heart School, Virgo Potens and finally Our Lady of the Missions High School.

The School’s closure in 1981 was well before the development of the internet and therefore it had never had a web presence.  I think it is safe to say that most students and probably staff too, knew very little of the school’s interesting past history.

In February 2012 an inaugural reunion for all women who attended the Tuckfield Street school, was held as part of the 150 year Jubilee celebrations of the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions.  A detailed history of the School was presented by 3 committee members at the reunion and it was decided to create this website so that the history would not be lost.  Please enjoy the history presented under the Year headings and check out some photos from the past on the ABOUT page.

In September/October 2012 some past pupils from the school had the very great priviledge of joining four Sisters on the Pilgrimage of the Heart Tour to France and England to re-trace the steps of their foundress, Euphrasie Barbier.  See the PILGRIMAGE page for the story and pictures.
